In a tragic incident that unfolded on Sunday afternoon, a house in Purushottampur village, located in Nandigram Block No. 1 under the Medinipur district, was completely reduced to ashes following a fire triggered by a gas cylinder explosion. The unfortunate event occurred at the residence of Subhash Dalui, whose grandmother was using a gas oven to heat milk. Local sources indicate that a gas pipeline leakage ensued, leading to a rapid ignition of the gas cylinder. Before any remedial action could be taken, the flames rapidly engulfed the entire house, leaving nothing but ashes in its wake.
According to witnesses, the swift response of nearby neighbors played a crucial role in containing the fire and preventing its spread to neighboring properties. However, despite their efforts, Subhash Dalui's residence suffered irreparable damage, with every possession inside, ranging from clothes to furniture, being consumed by the intense blaze.
